From the founder: 8 Years ago I was a software person who started getting interested in value investing. I read everything I could about it and started wanting to analyze businesses myself. I found it difficult to find an off the shelf tool that I could put a ticker into and say “is this is a good company according to Warren Buffet?”.

But I had a pretty good idea of what how he evaluates companies from studying him. So I built a fairly complex spreadsheet that was connected to online data so that I could put in a ticker and ask myself “Is this a good company to own according to Warren Buffet?”. It took me like 6 months to build it. But once I had it, I was able to start to quickly see how to evaluate companies like Buffet. I started using it to invest my own money and found it pretty profitable.

I showed this tool to people and told them about my love for finance. People immediately started wanting my help, it was a little overwhelming. People were asking me for stock tips, to manage their money, help them get out of debt, help them do due diligence on businesses they wanted to buy, as well as just doing financial advising. It was exciting, but also overwhelming.

So I started this company to hopefully help people identify good investments, both on the public and private markets, and manage their money well. DIY investing, saving, and financial advising is what I care about. I do not know where this journey is taking me. It’s still early days at 321 capital group. It’s possible I could do all of these things well, but more than likely I will specialize over time.
